With proprietary components removed and material pulled back for visual inspection, the bottom portion this photo shows typical internal cable wear on the Catstrap that a single cutting blade can inflict before the blade fails. Some steel cables show minor cut marks, but non of them have failed. On top, you can see the number of cuts made on an unprotected pipe during he same time period.
This photo shows a failed cutting blade that was used to cut The Catstrap. This blade is on the top. The bottom blade is a new blade. Note how the teeth are worn off of the top blade, then compare it to the new blade. This degraded condition usually happens after cutting time of approximately 1.5 minutes
